Football Friday – Haven vs Radnor

Strath Haven at Radnor, 7 p.m.

If 2020 was a normal year, the Panthers and Raiders likely would be considered two of the favorites in District 1 Class 5A. Instead, they play for early bragging rights in the league’s Class 5A division (watch out for Marple Newtown, too).

Returning starters Evan Blake, Jaris Adams and Matt Shuler give Haven a dynamic three-pronged attack in the backfield. Jack Ryder is one of the most polished QBs in the county, and is set to begin his second year piloting Kevin Clancy’s offense. Christian Mazur (defensive end) and Aidan Prochniak (linebacker) lead a talented defensive unit.

The Raiders (5-6 last year) have some of the most exciting skill players in the league. Senior wide receiver Jahmir Dixon had the best season in the county last year, leading all players in catches (44), yards (902) and touchdowns (13) en route to earning All-Delco honors. Scott Belveal and Damian Falcone are dangerous two-way standouts at running back and linebacker.
